Todd Burpo is a pastor. He has a wife and two children. At the time of this writing, his youngest son is 3 years old. The family had been through a rough year, mostly for the pastor himself. He had experienced kidney stones, trouble with his knees and then was put through the trauma of his young son coming down with appendicitis. The appendicitis got so bad that the family thought that they might lose their young Colton. It is about a year later that Colton is coming up with conversations about Jesus, Heaven and people who have been dead for longer that he himself has been alive. This is when the discovery becomes apparent that young Colton had visited Heaven during his surgery. Unable to really believe that his young son had actually been to heaven and back, the pastor asks questions of his young son. Colton's "three minutes" in heaven seems to be a reality.
This was a book that will certainly make you think and wonder what is actually in store for us after death. Colton's version of Heaven is certainly something that I would look forward to.

I read the picture book but haven't read this adult take on the events yet. It sounds like an enjoyable read.
