The Keeper by Sarah Langan

Bedford, ME is a dying little town. People are alcoholic, they watch Susan Marley like a hawk, and things are just rotten. Liz Marley is an unpopular girl until she pairs up with Bobby. Her sister haunts the town and we are given clues about why this girl has left the home that she grew up in.

Sarah Langan's first novel is quite good with language and schematics, but I hope that the second novel brings more of the true story to the forefront, as this one did not. Never really got to the nuts and bolts of everything that was going on.
